Match a manual drywall sander to its abrasive and attachment
Compare the working face, the way abrasive stays on it and the attachment needed for your setup.
Decide how you will reach the joint
Use a hand block when the area is within reach. A pole can extend the working range. Check whether the listing gives a complete tool, a head only, or a kit with a pole and abrasive.
Check how the abrasive attaches
Look for clamps, hook-and-loop, or another mounting system and verify the exact size and shape. A nominal 9-inch disc does not tell you whether it fits the sander's face and retention system.
Check any vacuum connection separately
For a vacuum-connected kit, match the hose and any adapters to the vacuum's stated port size. Verify what the seller supplies and follow both manufacturers' instructions. Choose a manual block if you do not need a hose connection.
